A "Special" Endorsement:
- Let's say you owe Nikko Fractis $500 for a fine music system. You have a $500 paycheck with you from work. Here's how you sign your check over to Nikko:
- You write "Pay to the order of Nikko Fractis" on the back of the check.
- You have endorsed the check over to Nikko. It's now his money. He cashes the check and parties!
"PAY TO THE ORDER OF" lets you make sure who will get your money.
- By writing "pay to the order" of on the check, you are also requiring that the person you endorsed the check over to must also endorse the check.
- This gives you proof that the person (or company) you wanted to get the money got the money.
