So Why Do People Keep Gambling?
The biggest reason people keep betting, despite the odds: Somebody does eventually win! And sometimes millions of dollars!
Winners of the million-dollar lottos virtually always win more than they have spent on tickets. If you're a winner, congratulations!
So what's the downside? Millions and millions of people lost money so that you could win!
But is there much "risk" in gambling on something like the lotto if you only spend a buck or two?
If - and that's a big if - you're buying a lotto ticket with the money you would have spent to go to the movie or spent on some other entertainment - no, its not a big risk. (Some people even consider buying lotto tickets as a type of voluntary tax to help schools and other good projects supported by the lotto.)
But the key is this: NEVER spend a dime from your monthly living expenses on ANY bet!
Look at it this way: your odds of winning a really big lotto prize are millions to one. Buying one ticket or ten tickets isn't going to change your odds that much. So, why buy tons of tickets?
